1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-phosphoethanolamine biotin (DSPE biotin) is one of SLT's biotinylated phospholipid derivatives. DSPE is a saturated C18 phospholipid with high hydrophobicity and it can interact well with cell membrane or synthetic lipsome phospholipid bilayer. Biotin labeled DSPE is able to bind to avidin, streptavidin or neutravidin with high affinity, and thus can be easily detected by fluorescently labeled avidin, streptavidin or neutravidin.
