Fluorescein amine (Fluorescein-NH₂) is a monofunctional fluorescein derivative that has a primary amine group. This primary amine can react with a number of amine reactive functional groups such as succinimidyl ester, aldehyde or carboxylic acid. Reaction of amine and other functional groups allows rapid attachment of fluorescein dye to targeted molecules.
