Product Description:
Pyrene acid succinimidyl ester (Pyrene NHS) is one of SLT's blue fluorescent dyes that has an amine reactive NHS ester group. Pyrene is a unique blue fluorescent dye that has exceptionally long fluorescence excite-state lifetime (>100 nanoseconds). The long excite-state life time of this dye makes it useful for time-resolved fluorescent probing oxygen species in cells and lipid vesicles. NHS functionalized pyrene can react with primary amine group under alkaline conditions (pH 8-10) quickly to form a stable amide bond. Thus Pyrene NHS can be used to label proteins, antibodies, nuclear acids and many other substrates.
