Product Description:

Pyrene maleimide is one of SLT's blue fluorescent dyes that has a thiol reactive maleimide group.  Pyrene is a unique blue fluorescent dye that has exceptionally long fluorescence excite-state lifetime (>100 nanoseconds).  The long excite-state life time of this dye makes it useful for time-resolved fluorescent probing oxygen species in cells and lipid vesicles. Maleimide functionalized pyrene can react with thiol/sulfhydryl group under neutral conditions (pH 6.5-7.5) quickly to form a stable thiol-ether bond. Thus Pyrene maleimide can be used for site specific labeling of proteins, antibodies, nuclear acids and many other substrates.
