Fluorescein carboxylic acid (FL-COOH) is a green fluorescent dye that emits strong fluorescence light around 515 nm upon excited around 495 nm. Fluorescein acid has a reactive carboxylic acid (-COOH) that can be activated and react with  amine or hydroxy groups.
