Fluorescein thiol (FL-SH) is a functional fluorescein derivative that has a sulfhydryl/thiol group. Thiol group can bind to metal surfaces with high affinity. It can also react with maleimide and many other groups. Thiol functional fluorescein is a green fluorescent dye that emits strong fluorescence light around 515 nm upon excited around 495 nm.
